Accessibility

The Tall Ship is located approximately 300-500m from the carpark.

There are disabled parking bays for use by blue badge holders.

Cars are only permitted on the quayside by special arrangement. For groups visiting with mobility issues, depending on circumstances, quayside access can be arranged for pick up and drop off during our quieter times. Please call us to arrange this.
Unfortunately we cannot allow cars to park on the quayside.

The majority of the Ship is accessible to wheelchair users with the exception of the fo’c’sle, poop deck and the main deckhouse. (Please see map on our website for the locations of these areas on the ship).

Due to health and safety restrictions we can only allow one wheelchair user below the weather deck at any time without prior arrangement. In the event of an emergency evacuation you must be able to leave your wheelchair and be assisted off the Ship by members of our crew.

Please call us if you would like to arrange usage of the lower decks by multiple wheelchair users.

The tween deck, inside the Ship, is cambered (on a slightly arched slope). The outside decks can also become slippery when wet. In keeping with the historic nature of the vessel, stairs for most levels on the ship are steeper than traditional staircases but have sturdy handrails and the lift can be used as alternative.

Guide and assistance dogs are welcome on The Tall Ship.

During busy periods, for example during the school holidays the Ship can be noisy with children and interactives such as the bell ringing.

There is low level lighting in our lower deck, the cargo hold.

Lift Access

Lift access is available to all levels of The Tall Ship except the fo’c’sle, poop deck and the main deckhouse. (Please see map on our website for the locations of these areas on the ship).

Accessible Toilets and Baby Changing Facilities

Accessible toilets and the baby changing facilities can be found on three floors down on the ship and can be accessed by using the lift. Alternatively, accessible toilets and baby changing facilities can be found in the Riverside Museum which is adjacent to the Ship.
